Homer event to promote bike safety awareness

Editor's Note: The following is a press release issued by the Village of Homer Police Department.

HOMER, N.Y. -- The Homer Police Department, in conjunction with the Cortland County Health Department and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, are hosting a bike rodeo for children between the ages of 5 and up at the Homer Intermediate / Jr. High School on Clinton St on Saturday, June 17, 2017 between 8 a.m. and noon.

During the rodeo, children will learn about the bike safety and skills. A limited number of bike helmets will be given to the children at no cost.

Child safety seat technicians from the Cortland County Sheriff’s and the Health Department will also be there to aid in the proper installation of child safety seats.

American Cancer’s Society’s fundraising event Relay for Life fundraising will also be on June 17, 2017, on the Village Green and Elementary School from noon until midnight.
