CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Cortland County Assistant District Attorney Robert Demarco has announced his candidacy for Cortlandville Town Judge.

DeMarco has about 14 years of experience as a prosecutor and has been with the district attorney's office for the past three years. He previously served 11 years with the Onondaga County DA's Office.

"As a Prosecutor, I understand first-hand, the importance in having a Judge who possesses integrity, fairness and actual court room experience, needed to achieve the correct outcome," DeMarco said in a press release.

DeMarco is taking on challenger Lenore LeFevre, who announced her bid for the judge seat last month.

Election day is Tues., Nov. 7.
