Family seeks public's help in finding missing Cortland woman

Mary Helms

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The family of Mary Helms is asking for the public's help in finding the 25-year-old Cortland woman.

Helms has not been seen since Friday, Aug. 25, according to her mother, Angela Helms. Her phone was found in factory reset mode at her home. She was last seen Friday picking up her check at Frank & Mary's Diner in Cortland.

She did not show up for her scheduled shift later that evening, her mother said.

"I've filed a missing person's report with Cortland Police," Helms wrote in a post on her Facebook page. "Please, if you see her, see a post from her, or she contacts you - contact me here, or call CPD."

She was last seen driving a 2011 black Hyundai Sonata. She is 25 years old, 5'8", tall, with brown eyes.

Helms may have been sighted at a Luke Bryan concert at Darien Lake on Friday, her mother said, though the sighting has not been verified.

"Anyone...who was at that Luke Bryan concert on Friday night, please look at your pics & videos to see if you see her anywhere," Helms said. "I realize it's a huge place, but this would change our timeline and give us a place to start searching!!"
