CORTLAND, N.Y. - Two men stole a vehicle from a driveway in the town of Cincinnatus early Sunday morning and drove 30 miles north before crashing the car in Onondaga County, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

At around 5 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff's office received a report of a stolen vehicle from a home on Gee Brook Road in the town of Cincinnatus.

Responding officers notified other police agencies, and the vehicle was found by Onondaga County sheriff's deputies several hours later after it was involved in an accident on West Valley Road in the town of Spafford, authorities said.

The vehicle had sustained substantial damage from the crash, and the car's two occupants--Trey M. Roberts, 18, of Marietta; and Thomas F. Walsh, 18, of Otisco--received minor injuries, though they declined medical attention, according to Lt. Todd Caufield with the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.

Roberts and Walsh were taken into custody and turned over to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, where they were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor.

The damaged vehicle will be turned over to its owner, authorities said.
