Police investigating crash involving pickup truck, motorcycle in Homer

HOMER, N.Y. - Three people were injured in a crash that occurred near the Homer Senior High School Saturday afternoon.

At around 1:08 p.m. Saturday, officers from the Homer Police Department were dispatched by the Cortland County 911 Center to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 281 and Center Street.

The crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle, according to police.

The driver of the pickup truck is a 78-year-old man from Homer, police said. He was treated at the scene for his injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old man from Cortland, and his passenger, a 31-year-old woman also from Cortland, were transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Both are in "stable but serious condition," authorities said.

Police are investigating the crash and no tickets have been issued. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.

The Cortland County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, and the Homer Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene.
