Cocaine, cash seized in Cortland drug bust; 7 people arrested

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Seven people were arrested Friday following a drug bust at a residence in the city of Cortland, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday.

At around 4:20 p.m. Friday, multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, the City of Cortland Police Department, and the Homer Police Department, executed a search warrant at 11 Denti Way in the city of Cortland.

The warrant was the result of a brief investigation involving the report of drug sales from the home, the sheriff's office said.

Seven people were located at the home and taken into custody without incident.

Several bags of packaged cocaine, with a street value close to $5,000, was seized in the raid. Authorities also confiscated $1,500 in U.S. currency, a .22 caliber rifle, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of marijuana.

All seven people were arraigned in Cortland City Court Friday evening. They are scheduled to return to city court on Monday.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, the sheriff's office said.
