Cortland women's hockey opens season with 4-1 win at Neumann

ASTON, PA. – Sophomore Miranda Kolb (Watertown/Syracuse Nationals) scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Cortland women's hockey team to a 4-1 victory at Neumann University Friday night in its season opener.

Sophomore Emily King (Buffalo/Buffalo Regals) tallied a goal and an assist, and sophomore Carly Weigold (Mahopac/Millbrook Mustangs) netted a goal for the Red Dragons. Junior Samantha Pippin (Allen Park, MI/Team Detroit) and sophomore Allyson Edwards (Buffalo/Buffalo Regals) each added an assist. Sophomore goalie Rachael Farmer (Grand Island/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) registered 18 saves.

Jackie Schneider scored for the Knights with Katelyn Brown collecting an assist. Goalie Julia Fair made 36 saves.
