Authorities identify victim in fatal Cincinnatus rollover crash

CINCINNATUS, N.Y. - The Cortland County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim in Sunday morning's fatal rollover crash in the town of Cincinnatus.

Robert J. Fink, 44, was the driver and lone occupant of a 4-door passenger car that rolled over on Route 41 in Cincinnatus at around 7 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Fink was driving near the intersection of Route 41 and Knickerbocker Road when the vehicle struck an embankment as he was rounding a curve. His vehicle became airborne, struck a telephone pole, and rolled over several times.

Excessive speed has been determined to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to Sgt. Anthony Phelps with the sheriff's office.

Authorities say their investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
