Scott woman arrested on drug possession charges

Narrative: On Wednesday, Nov. 15, at approximately 2:54 a.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by 24-year-old Jennah Smith after she was observed making abrupt turns from Route 281 onto Groton Avenue, and again onto Elwood Avenue in the City of Cortland, the sheriff's office said. After further investigation, officers found her to be in possession of the drug Molly, marijuana, and hypodermic needles, authorities said. She was taken into custody, processed, and later arraigned in the City of Cortland Court. She was released in court, to Alternatives To Incarceration, for the second time this month, authorities said.

Narrative: On Nov. 8, the defendants both possessed a forged check and Discenza cashed the check, which was for $200.00, according to the City of Cortland Police Department. The check belonged to a 69-year old-female. They were charged and sent to the Cortland County Jail.

Man charged with violating order of protection

Narrative: On Wednesday, the defendant went to a residence on Port Watson Street, where a 55-year-old female had a valid order of protection against him, and refused to leave, city police said. He was released to appear in city court later this month.
