Three charged with narcotics possession after police raid Cortland apartment

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Three Cortland men face felony drug possession charges following an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine at a downtown apartment.

On Friday, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Cortland County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment on Central Avenue. The warrant was obtained after law enforcement suspected that the apartment was used to help sell crack cocaine, state police said.

During the raid, police seized about nine grams of cocaine, five grams of heroin, two grams of the drug Molly, about $2,000 in cash, nine cellphones, a digital scale, and drug packaging material, authorities said.

As a result of the search warrant, the following three individuals were arrested:

Kern Daniel, 36, of Cortland – Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree; two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree; criminal nuisance in the first degree; unlawful possession of marijuana.

Malcolm Innocent, 24, Cortland – Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree; two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Mark McClammy, 29, of Cortland - Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree; two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

The three defendants were arraigned in Cortland City Court. Daniels was taken to the Cortland County Jail on $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond. Innocent and McClammy are being held on $100,000 cash bail.
