Cops: 78-year-old Cuyler woman drove drunk, crashed car into ditch

CUYLER, N.Y. - A 78-year-old Cortland County woman was reportedly driving under the influence when she crashed her car into a ditch early Saturday morning.

At around 12:05 a.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-car property damage accident on Lincklaen Road in the town of Cuyler.

Marie S. Judge, of Cuyler, was traveling east on Lincklaen Road when she drove off the side of the road into a ditch and struck a culvert, according to Lt. Karl Altmann with the sheriff's office.

Deputies arriving at the scene determined that Judge was intoxicated, Lt. Altman said.

Judge was charged with a misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated and traffic violations for failing to maintain her lane and having an obstructed view of the road.

She was arrested, processed, and later released to a third party. She is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
