Emergency crews called to early morning crash on I-81 in Tully

TULLY, N.Y. - State police are investigating a crash that happened on Interstate 81 in Tully early Tuesday morning.

At around 7 a.m., a 2002 Chevrolet propane delivery truck was traveling southbound on I-81 when the vehicle veered off the west shoulder of the highway and struck a tree, police said.

The driver, James P. Fyffe, 54, of Fulton, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Tully Fire Department.

Fyffe was transported to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life threatening injuries.

The propane truck did not leak or rupture during the crash, police said.

The investigation is continuing.
