Couple found asleep in vehicle

Narrative: On December 24, at about 4:30 AM, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office found a vehicle parked in the roadway on Long Road in the Town of Scott. The vehicle was occupied by John Delany and Brandy Lyman, who both were asleep in the vehicle. Delany attempted to give officers a fake name to avoid being arrested for not having a New York State driver’s license, authorities said. Officers also found both occupants to be in possession of several hypodermic needles and marijuana. They were taken to the Cortland County Jail on $500 cash bail.

Homer man charged with felony DWI

Narrative: On Dec. 23, at around 2:26 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle being operated by 42-year-old Christopher M. Mowry for speeding on Homer Avenue in the village of Homer. Mowry was found to be driving while intoxicated and with a revoked license, authorities said. He was also found to be violation of conditions from a previous driving while intoxicated conviction requiring him to have an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he operates. Mowry was arraigned in Homer Town Court and released.
