Authorities look to identify suspect in CFCU bank robbery

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a CFCU Community Credit Union branch late Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:32 p.m., deputies responded to 99 Sheraton Drive in the village of Lansing regarding a robbery.

Witnesses told investigators that a hooded figure walked into the branch and approached employees while displaying a handgun and demanding money. The man then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.

The man was last seen running in a northeasterly direction on Sheraton Drive. He is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, khaki or tan pants, and dark shoes.
