The YWCA Cortland and SUNY Cortland Athletics, invite girls in grades 4-7 to the 2018 Girls’ Day Out! This unique event involves activities that will engage girls in health, fitness, education, and much more. This fun event is sponsored by Edward Jones.
Girls’ Day Out takes place on Saturday, February 10. The event is at the Park Center (PER Center) at SUNY Cortland from 8:45-2:45 pm. Girls will participate in gymnastics, swimming, relay races and a health education component. The Cortland State’s Women Athletic teams will escort participants to each activity.
Along with some great physical activities, the girls will have an opportunity to participate in an interactive career fair with women from the Cortland Community and surrounding areas. Some of the careers include, emergency room doctors, fire rescue, and architects.
The career fair is an excellent venue where young women are introduced to some diverse and non-typical careers and the women who chose them.
Make your daughter, granddaughter, student, or friend aware of Girls’ Day Out. It is a great experience.
To register, contact the YWCA Cortland at 753-9651. You may also download the registration form from the YWCA website, www.cortlandywca.org. There will be a discount rate of $10 if you register before February 2. After February 2, the cost is $12. The registration fee includes a drawstring bag, lunch, and snacks.
