1890 House Museum offers Valentine's Day Dinner

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Come experience love in the Gilded Age. The 1890 House, in partnership with Aiello's Ristorante, is excited to provide a romantic 5-course Valentine's Day Dinner. The perfect date for two celebrates the "girl next door" love story of Charles Wickwire and Mabel Fitzgerald, and courtship in the Victorian Era.

Menu

1st Course - Arugula Salad
Fresh arugula salad topped with Pecans, Apples, Crumbled Gorgonzola, and served with your choice of Raspberry Vinaigrette or White Balsamic Dressing

2nd Course - Bay Scallops and Langostino Scampi

Served with traditional sauce consisting of sautéed garlic, scallions, herbs, lemon, and wine.

3rd Course - Penne alla Vodka

Traditional pasta dish with a tomato, proscuitto, and cream sauce deglazed with vodka.

4th Course - Chateaubriand or Sole Imperial
Chateaubriand - Wood fired tenderloin, grilled to perfection and served Au jus

Sole Imperial - Sole stuffed with langostino, blue crab, and shrimp. Topped with cream of sherry sauce, lightly seasoned.

Choice served with red potatoes and Brussels sprouts

5th Course - Haslikuchen Hazelnut Torte, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Coffee.

All meals include a complimentary glass of Red or White Wine, and additional alcohol can be purchased as desired.

My group is larger than two people! Can I still come?

Of course! We would be glad to accommodate larger group sizes. Please call or email the museum to secure your reservation.

Are there any promotional deals?

We are offering several promotional opportunities with our Valentine's Day Dinner. We are offering two free tickets with the purchase of any Enhanced Membership levels. Enhanced Memberships include all of our Basic Household Membership levels, plus discounts on future events, special museum content, and 1890 Memorabilia. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We will email you tickets after your purchase, and feel free to bring them. However, we will have a master list of all the reservations and be able to seat you with or without your tickets.

Is my ticket transferable?

Absolutely! Gives us a call before the event and let us know who will be attending.

Are you able to accommodate special dietary restrictions?

Given the nature of the event, we may or may not be able to meet special dietary needs. If you have concerns or specific questions about food preparation, please contact the 1890 House Museum.
