The Madison Blue Devils improved to 17-3 overall with a 53-41 win at Cincinnatus High School Monday night.

Early in the first quarter, Madison had a 10-3 lead until Cincinnatus came back to shrink the deficit to four points. Madison, however, would turn that into a 9-point deficit entering halftime, when the lead would still belong to the Blue Devils by a score of 40-34.

In the fourth quarter, players from both teams couldn't buy a basket until the final minutes of the game, when the Blue Devils outscored the Lions 13-7.

Spencer Haviland and Sam Matteson combined for 32 of Madison’s 53 points. Ten of Haviland’s points came from the line, as he went a perfect 10-10. Overall, Madison went 17-19 from the line. Colton Stone added 12 points to help the Blue Devils earn the road win.

For Cincinnatus, Connor Stafford led the team for scoring with 16 points in the game. His teammate Remington McUmber scored 13 points in the game, including three 3-pointers.

The Lions fall to 11-7 and 5-7 in the conference after the loss. The Blue Devils improve to 12-0 in conference play.
