Winter weather advisory in effect for Cortland through Tuesday morning

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A winter weather advisory is in effect for Cortland County from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The advisory is also in effect for Chenango and Broome counties. Total snow accumulations of 2-5 inches are expected.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions, including the morning commute on Tuesday. Be prepared for reduced visibility at times.

Another round of snow showers will develop southeast of Lake Ontario Tuesday and continue Wednesday and Wednesday night. The Cortland area is expected to receive between 8-12 inches of snow through Thursday morning.

Gusty winds may cause periods of blowing snow on Wednesday.
