Winter weather advisory extended, updated snowfall estimates for Cortland County

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A winter weather advisory has been extended for Cortland County through 2 a.m. Thursday.

A new round of snow will start to develop southeast of Lake Ontario this afternoon. Snow is expected tonight through Wednesday Night.

Additional snow accumulations of 2-5 inches are expected tonight, with another 3-6 inches on Wednesday and Wednesday evening. Highest total accumulations and worst travel conditions are expected in higher terrain portions of Cortland County.

Wind gusts on Wednesday will range between 25 to 35 mph, which could cause blowing and drifting snow.
