Cortland's Justin Cooper named to D3hoops.com All-East Team

SUNY Cortland junior guard Justin Cooper (Pine Plains/Stissing Mountain) has been chosen to the All-East region third team by the web site D3hoops.com.

Cooper averaged 14.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 26 starts. He shot 52 percent from the floor overall and 40 percent (36-of-89) from the 3-point arc. He led the SUNYAC in free throw percentage at 87 percent. He also rated sixth in the league in rebounding, seventh in assists and 10th in scoring.

Cooper scored in double figures 23 times, including 21 of his last 22 games, and recorded seven points-rebounds "double-doubles." He scored 26 points and grabbed seven boards in a two-point loss to eventual SUNYAC champion Plattsburgh, tallied 24 points in a home win over Oneonta, and scored 23 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in a win over NCAA qualifier Southern Vermont at the HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout in Miami.

Through three seasons, Cooper has scored 944 points.

Cortland finished the season with an 18-8 record, including a 13-5 mark in SUNYAC play.
