Lewis County woman charged in crash

Name: Beth A. Leppert
Date Arrested: April 13, 2018
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated with a reported B.A.C. of .22 percent (misdemeanor); traffic tickets
Narrative: Troopers were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 281 in the town of Cortlandville. An investigation revealed that Leppert ran a red light and struck another vehicle.  Both Leppert and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured. Troopers determined Leppert was intoxicated and she was subsequently arrested. Leppert was released on tickets returnable to the town of Cortlandville Court on May 14, 2018. She was then turned over to a sober third party.

Cortland man charged with criminal mischief

Charge(s): Criminal mischief in the fourth degree (misdemeanor); resisting arrest (misdemeanor)
Narrative: Cabane “did strike a 20 year old female in the face and broke her glasses and also struck a 47 male with a closed fist and resisted arrest,” city police said.

Cops: man gave false date of birth

Name: Vincent E. Maldonado
Age: 25
Address: Cortland, N.Y.
Date Arrested: April 14, 2018
Charge(s): False personation (misdemeanor); aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree (misdemeanor); crossing road hazard marking (violation)
Narrative: Maldonado was driving on the shoulder of the road on Clinton Avenue and gave police a false date of birth and had a suspended driver license. He was released to appear in city court.
