Man lied about identity, police say

Name: Christopher J. Ascoli
Location: Hill Street, Cortland
Summary: Ascoli, 19, was arrested Friday evening and charged with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, and an open container violation. Police say he lied multiple times about his identity.

Woman charged with providing alcohol to minor

Name: Amanda J. Wood
Location: Northcliffe Road, Cortland
Summary: On April 20, 2018, while at a residence on Northcliffe Road, 23-year-old Wood provided alcohol to a female under the age of 21, police said. She was charged with unlawful dealing with a child, a misdemeanor.

Woman charged with assault

Name: Brittany Jackson
Location: Main Street, Cortland
Summary: Jackson, 20, was arrested early Sunday morning after she allegedly struck a male in the face in front of 96 Main Street, causing a small cut on his lip. She continued to punch the person while being held back and fought with officers when they attempted to arrest her, police said. She was charged with attempted assault, resisting arrest, and harassment.
