Marathon man charged with DWI

Man attempted to evade police, authorities say

Summary: On May 18, at approximately 6:16 p.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle going north on Route 281, in the Town of Homer, for failing to keep right. The operator of the vehicle, 62-year-old Larry Gantt, continued north on Route 281 for several miles before finally stopping on Route 281 in the Town of Preble, authorities said. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Cortland woman charged with marijuana possession

Summary: On May 19, at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers observed two vehicles parked at the JM McDonald Sports Complex at 4292 Fairgrounds Drive, in the Town of Cortlandville. Upon further investigation, officers arrested 30-year-old Kristina Gaul after she was found to be in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana in her possession, authorities said. She was arrested, processed, and later released on an appearance ticket.
