Tompkins Cortland Community College to hold 49th commencement

DRYDEN, N.Y. — Tompkins Cortland Community College will send off 600 graduates during its 49th Commencement ceremony Thursday, May 24.

The ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the college gymnasium.

John Connors, Provost and Vice President of the college, will deliver the keynote address. Conners is retiring from the college this summer after a 224 years of service. He began his career at the college in 1994 as Dean of Academic Affairs and would eventually become the college's first provost in 2008.

This year’s ceremony will also be the first for President Orinthia Montague, who took office last summer.

In addition to President Montague, remarks will be provided from Board of Trustees Chair Raymond Schlather and Student Trustee Naseem Fielder.

Individual students will be honored for academic-related achievement, and faculty and staff will receive various Chancellor's/Trustees' Awards for Excellence.

Distinguished alumni will be recognized, as will two Friends of the College.
