YWCA Cortland’s Aid to Victims of Violence program presents their Summer Empowerment Workshop for girls aged 12-17. This workshop will include exercises and activities that will affirm and promote everybody’s individuality, self-worth, and inner strength.

Participants will be able to step out of their comfort zone with a full day of self- defense instruction including situational awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. Also included in this workshop is a day at the Greek Peak Adventure Center where participants will work both as individuals and as part of a team in challenges such as the aerial ropes course and zip lines. Trained staff members will lead conversations about important topics such as healthy relationships, self-esteem, goal setting, and more!

This workshop will be held Monday, July 16, through Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The workshop is free for all participants and includes snacks, drinks, and lunch. Come to the lobby of the YWCA Cortland, 14 Clayton Avenue, for a registration packet or register online at cortlandywca.org! Registration deadline is July 1.
