Marathon woman charged following two-car crash

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Marathon woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following a two-car crash Thursday night, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office said.

At around 9 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of State Route 221 and Highland Road in the town of Marathon.

The driver, 57-year-old Cheryl A. Braman, was traveling west on Route 221 when she rear-ended a vehicle ahead of her that was making a right-hand turn onto Highland Road.

Neither party was injured in the crash.

Braman was found to be in an intoxicated condition. She was arrested, processed, and later released to a third party.
