The SUNY Cortland men's soccer team is ranked 23rd nationally in Division III in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.
The Red Dragons finished 16-4 last season and made their third NCAA tournament appearance in four years.
Cortland was the SUNYAC regular-season champion and advanced to the NCAA second round to tie for 17th nationally.
Seventh-year head coach Steve Axtell's squad starts its season at top-ranked and defending national champion Messiah College on Friday, August 31. The SUNYAC schedule begins at home versus Oswego September 22.
