Cops: Man broke order of protection

Name: Kenneth E. Nowalk, 47, of Cortland

Charges: Criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony

Summary: Troopers were dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious person near a residence on State Route 11 in McGraw. Troopers learned that the person at the residence had an order of protection against Nowalk. Police learned that Nowalk left items at the person's doorstep. He was subsequently arrested and arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.

Cincinnatus man charged with felony DWI

Name: Michael J. Krulkowski, 38, of Cincinnatus

Charges: Driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. of .15%, a felony

Summary: Troopers spotted Krulkowski in a running vehicle in the parking lot of Roger's Auto State on Route 41 in Smithville after the business was closed. Police determined he was intoxicated. An investigation also revealed that Krulkowski had a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years. He was arraigned in Greene Village Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.

Cortland man charged with drug possession

Name: Richard W. Hoy, 35, of Cortland

Charges: Criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor

Summary: Hoy was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on Main Street while possessing bath salts, police said. He was released on an appearance ticket.
