Cortlandville woman arrested following tip to police

CORTLAND, N.Y. — An anonymous tip to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office resulted in the arrest of a Cortlandville woman Thursday.

The arrest came after officers received a complaint of someone driving a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Officers located the driver, 22-year-old Taylor A. Weisbrod, of Cortlandville, at the Cortland County Office Building parking lot on Greenbush Street in the city of Cortland.

She was found to be driving the car while her ability was impaired by drugs, authorities said. She was also driving with a 1-year-old child in the vehicle, the sheriff's office said.

Weisbrod "physically fought" with officers who were taking her into custody over the removal of her child, authorities said. The child was turned over to family members.

Weisbrod was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by a drug, endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.

She was arraigned in Cortland City Court and is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on Sep. 26.
