Cocaine possession charge for Cortland man

Name: Shane K. Granger, 40, of Cortland
Charges: Criminal possession of a controlled substance (third-degree felony)
Summary: Officers responded to a residence on Washington Street for an investigation during which Granger had 13.5 grams of cocaine in his possession, according to Lt. Richard Troyer with the Cortland Police Department.

Domestic incident

Name: Artist Quiller, 47, of Cortland
Charges: Criminal obstruction of breathing (misdemeanor); endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor); second-degree harassment (violation)
Summary: While at a residence on Clayton Avenue, Quiller choked a 31-year-old female while in the presence of a four-year-old and 14-year-old girl, police said.

Underage drinking ticket, resisting arrest

Name: Casey N. Garrison, 18, of Stony Point, N.Y.
Charges: False personation (misdemeanor); resisting arrest (misdemeanor); unlawful possession of alcohol (violation)
Summary: While on Clayton Avenue, Garrison possessed alcohol while being under 21 years old, gave a false name, and resisted arrest, police said.

Cortland man threatened to kill woman, police say

Name: Clayton S. Lawson, 28, homeless
Charges: Second-degree assault (felony); two counts of criminal possession of a weapon (felony); aggravated family offense (felony); second-degree menacing (misdemeanor); reckless endangerment (misdemeanor); two counts of third-degree assault (misdemeanor)
Summary: On Sept. 8, 2018, while at a residence on Main Street, Lawson struck a 25-year-old woman in the leg with a USB chord and punched her in the arm. On Sept. 12, at about 5 a.m., Lawson threw a drinking glass at the same female, striking her in the head and causing a laceration and bruise. He also threatened to kill her, at which point she jumped out of a second floor window to get away, fracturing her right ankle, police said. Lawson was jailed on $5,000 cash bail.
