Freeville woman ticketed in Cortlandville motorcycle crash

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Freeville woman was ticketed for vehicle and traffic violations following a motorcycle crash in the town of Cortlandville Monday morning.

At around 9:54 a.m., officers responded to Route 13, near the intersection of Starr Road, for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Kate E. Catlin, was driving a 2002 Harley Davidson northbound on Route 13 when she rear-ended a 2008 Subaru, according to Lt. Karl Altmann with the sheriff's office.

Catlin was ticketed for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and following too closely, a violation. She was transported by TLC Ambulance to Cortland Regional Medical Center for leg pain.

The SUNY Cortland University Police Department, Cortlandville Fire and Rescue, and Stupke's Towing assisted with the investigation and cleanup efforts.
