Cortland police arrest pair in burglaries

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Two people were arrested Sunday in connection with a burglary that occurred at a residence on Clayton Avenue, according to the City of Cortland Police Department.

At around 1:45 a.m., two people entered a residence on Clayton Avenue and stole a laptop computer and food items. They then entered a residence on Prospect Terrace, where they stole a laptop computer and clothes, according to Lt. Richard Troyer with the Cortland Police Department.

The defendants are identified as 35-year-old Andrew J. Fiorentini, of Cortland, and 41-year-old Alicia Louis, of Homer.

Each were charged with two felony counts of burglary and grand larceny. They were also charged with misdemeanors of petit larceny and conspiracy.

Fiorentini was sent to jail without bail. Louis was sent to jail on $1,000 cash bail. They were scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court Monday.
