Cortland police report weekend arrests

Marcellus man charged with felony DWI

At around 5:12 p.m. Friday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office stopped to check on a vehicle and its occupant on Youngs Crossing Road in the town of Homer. Upon further investigation, 61-year-old Douglas E. Kipp was found to be consuming alcohol in his vehicle, authorities said. He was charged with a felonies of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. of .18 percent for having a previous DWI conviction. He is being held in the Cortland County Jail on $500 cash bail.

Summer Hill man charged with DWI

At around 12:13 a.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle being driven by 28-year-old Karl Vanorder for failing to stop at a stop sign. Vanorder was traveling on Elm Street in the city of Cortland when he drove through the intersection of Greenbush Street at a high rate of speed. He was also found to be in an intoxicated condition. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and later released to a third party.

Bronx woman charged with harassment

Olivia E. Jackson, 21, was arrested Friday morning for second-degree harassment, a violation, and sixth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor. The arrest was in connection with an incident that occurred around 2:30 a.m., Sept. 2, in which Jackson allegedly kicked a 21-year-old female in front of 65 Main Street.

Man ticketed for underage drinking

Steven T. Plachcinski, 19, of Deer Park, was arrested at 11:40 a.m. Thursday for false personation, a misdemeanor; unlawful possession of alcohol under 21, a violation; and unlawful use of another driver's license, a violation. While at 96 Main Street, Plachcinski was arrested for having alcohol and providing false identification. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Taylor woman charged with drug possession

Katie C. Pittsley, 33, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Saturday for criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, both misdemeanors. She was sought by police on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court. She was jailed on $800 cash bail.
