CORTLAND, N.Y. — If you woke up to a light dusting of snow on your vehicle Thursday morning, you're not alone. The Cortland area received its first snowfall of the season, and forecasters are predicting a chance for more snow showers this weekend.

Here's a look at your 5-day forecast:

Thursday: Cold air blowing from the northwest brought first snow for many locations. Chilly, mainly dry conditions today, as high pressure builds into the area. There will be a fair amount of sunshine, despite highs in the low to mid 40s. Wind gusts 20-25 mph at times. Remaining snow showers will diminish to flurries fairly quickly towards dawn. Lows in the mid 30s overnight.

Friday: Dry and sunny pleasant autumn weather. Warmest temperatures of the week. Highs of 55-60.

Saturday: Rain showers to develop during the afternoon. Seasonable high temperatures in the low to mid 50s. Rain/snow showers from later Saturday night through Sunday.

Sunday: Light snow accumulations during the early morning hours. Afternoon highs will only reach into the low to mid 40s.

Monday: Milder temperatures near 50 degrees.

Tuesday: Cold frontal passage will likely lead to rain showers, with a mix of rain and show showers later Tuesday night into Wednesday.
