Homer High School will be hosting its first Engineering and Manufacturing Day on Friday, Oct. 26.
Numerous businesses and colleges will be participating in this two-hour event. The goal for the day is to highlight local and regional career opportunities and educational pathways in the diverse fields of engineering and manufacturing.
Students in grades 9-12 will have the chance to talk directly to employers about necessary skills needed to obtain a job, and to college admissions reps about relevant courses of study.
The program will run from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m., split into two sessions. One session will be a panel-type presentation in the auditorium, and the other will be career/college fair-style in the gymnasium. Students will participate in both 50-minute sessions.
