Police seek suspect in reported rape on SUNY Cortland campus

CORTLAND, N.Y. — The SUNY Cortland University Police Department is seeking a suspect in connection with a reported rape incident that occurred on campus.

The incident reportedly occurred on Fri., Oct. 26, at 3 a.m. in the area of Prospect Terrace, near the SUNY Cortland Memorial Library.

The suspect was not known to the victim prior to the incident, police said. There is no description of the suspect at this time.

“There is potential for a continued threat to the campus community, so we urge the community to take precautions,” the University Police Department said in a press release.

The University Police Department is investigating the incident.
