Winter weather advisory in effect for Cortland County

CORTLAND, N.Y. — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Cortland County from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Over the next 24 hours, lake affect snow is expected throughout central New York, with our region expected to see snow accumulations between 3 to 6 inches.

Most of the snow will fall late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, forecasters said.

The advisory is in effect for northern Cortland County, southern Cayuga County, and northern Chenango County.

Plan on slippery road conditions, which could impact the morning or evening commute. For the latest road conditions, dial 511.

After a relatively quiet Thursday, another storm system will impact the region Thursday night and Friday, with a possibl wintry mix.
