Police find marijuana, concentrated cannabis at Cortland man's residence

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland man was arrested at his residence Friday following an investigation into purported drug activity.

On Friday, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office served a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Jewett Avenue in the city of Cortland.

The warrant was the result of an ongoing drug investigation by the sheriff's office and the Cortland County Drug Task Force.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers located around 17 grams of concentrated cannabis and around 2 ounces of marijuana inside the residence, the sheriff's office said.

Sanders is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; and criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a class B misdemeanor.

Sanders was arraigned on the charges in Cortland City Court. He is due back in court on Dec. 5.

The sheriff's office was assisted by the Village of Homer Police Department.
