Cortland man charged with assault
Name: Scott A. Conklin, 52,of 54 Main Street, Cortland
Charges: Felony aggravated criminal contempt; third-degree assault and criminal trespass, misdemeanors
Details: Conklin was arrested at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday for fighting with a 51-year-old woman who had a valid order of protection against him, according to city police. Conklin went to the woman's Charles Street home at 3 a.m. Saturday and assaulted her, police said. The woman was treated for a sprained ankle and minor bruises at Cortland Regional Medical Center and released, said Lt. Rick Troyer. Conklin was arrested after a police investigation and sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail. He was scheduled to appear today in City Court.
DWI arrest in Virgil
Name: Thomas A. Honaker, 25, of Aberdeen, Maryland
Charges: Driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% as a first offense, both misdemeanors; moving from lane unsafely and unsafe tires, both traffic infractions.
Date Arrested: Nov. 28, 2018 at 12:27 a.m.
Details: Honaker was arrested by state police in Virgil and was sent to the Cortland County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash or $7,000 bond bail. Honaker was not yet scheduled to appear in Virgil Town Court as of 12:37 p.m. Wednesday.
