CORTLAND, N.Y. — Despite the high chance of rain in the forecast, Cortland's New Year's Eve Celebration will go on as planned.

The festivities begin at 8 p.m. with the 4th annual "Dancin' Thru the Decades" New Year's Eve Dance at Cortland Repertory Theatre. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Attendees will have a front row seat to the Cortland Downtown Partnership's First Light Celebrations—presented by McNeil & Co.—including walkabout performances starting at 10:30 p.m.

The countdown to the Clock Tower ball drop will begin at 11:30 p.m., accompanied by an outdoor LED light performance and fire dance from Fire Magick at the corner of Main Street and Port Watson Street.

At the stroke of midnight, the city will be treated to a fireworks display to ring in the New Year.

Remember to have a safe and happy New Year!
