Cortland County man charged with rape, criminal sex act

A 19-year-old Pitcher man is facing felonies charges after police say he twice raped a 13-year-old girl last Spring, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Jaime C. Andre-Lopez Jr. assaulted the girl, whom he knew, during a three month period from March to May, according to the office.

The attacks occurred at two locations—one in Cortlandville and one in Solon, the police investigation revealed.

Andre-Lopez, who resides Route 23, was arraigned on second-degree rape and first-degree criminal sex act, felonies, as well as endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, in both Cortlandville and Solon Town Courts for a total of six charges.

Andre-Lopez was arrested on Valentine’s Day and released without bail by both courts. He is scheduled to reappear at 11 a.m. Monday in Cortlandville Town Court and at 6:30 p.m. March 27 in Solon Town Court.
