Details: Petrella struck a curb, a parking sign post and a telephone pole while trying to turn left from Court Street onto Church Street in front of the Cortland Police Station about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to city police. Police determined Petrella had a blood-alcohol content over 0.18 percent – more than twice the legal limit – and a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, according to the department. Petrella was released and was set to appear Friday in Cortland City Court. Results from that hearing were not immediately available.
Name: David P. Ryan, 59, of 59 West 2nd Street, Fulton, NY
Charges: Driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, misdemeanors, as well as no or inadequate headlamps, no or inadequate tail lamps, unsafe tire, and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, all violations
Details: Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department asked Cortland County deputies to help in finding a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident at about 1:55 a.m. Monday on Interstate 81 near Exit 12 in Homer, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. Officers found the vehicle and arrested the intoxicated driver, David P. Ryan, at 2:19 a.m., according to the office. Ryan was released in the custody of a sober person and is set to appear at 2:30 p.m. March 11 in Cortlandville Town Court.
