A local company has announced it will no longer be in the business of selling sport utility vehicles.

The CNY Family of Dealerships—which operates CNY Farm Supply, CNY Power Equipment, CNY Rentals & Sales, and CNY Self Storage—will begin liquidating its remaining inventory of assets related to motorcycles, dirt bikes and snowmobiles this summer, the Law family said in a statement Tuesday night.

CNY Power Sports opened in 2001 after the Law family purchased the former Honda of Cortland store on Port Watson Street in Cortland. In November 2004, CNY Power Sports moved to its current location at 3871 Route 11 in Polkville, just off Interstate 81 via Exit 10. They used the extra space to launch CNY Farm Supply, offering agricultural equipment such as hay tools, tractors, and other utility vehicles.

CNY Farm Supply will continue doing business and expand to add current brands like Honda and Kawasaki, as well as ATVs and trailers, the statement read.

"We are not closing the doors, and will remain open and doing business on regular hours," the statement read. "Keep watch of our exciting changes to our buildings and showrooms as we get through this transaction."
