Cortland Weather Outlook: Afternoon showers, cooler temps

For today's weather, forecasters are once again predicting showers hitting central New York in the afternoon going into the evening.

It will be a cloudy day with a high near 60 degrees during the day. There will be a 60 percent chance of precipitation early in the afternoon through 10 p.m. Temperatures will dip into the lower 50s in the evening hours.

Here is a look at the weather forecast for the rest of thee week, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with temperatures rising to a high of about 73 degrees. There will be a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and evening.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be as high as 72 degrees and will drop to the high 40s going into the evening.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 72 degrees and a mostly clear night with a low around 48 degrees.

Saturday: Sunny with high temperatures around the mid 70s and a clear night with a low around 50 degrees.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 75 degrees and partly cloudy with temperatures dropping into the mid 50s.
