For today's weather forecast, forecasters are predicting showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours that will most likely stop late in the evening.

It will be mostly cloudy during the day with a 60 percent chance of showers. It will, however, gradually start to become sunny as the day goes on. Temperatures will reach a high near 78 degrees and drop to about 60 degrees late in the evening.

Here is a look at the rest of this weekend's weather forecast along with the beginning of next week, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Sunday: Partly sunny, with there still being a 40 percent of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high around 70 degrees and then drop as we enter late evening hours to a near 52 degrees.

Monday: Sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 78 degrees. It will then however start to get cloudy as we enter late afternoon hours. With there being a small 30 percent chance of showers. Temperatures will drop to around 60 degrees at night.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with there still being a small 30 percent chance of precipitation. Mainly before 2 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high near 77 degrees during the day and then drop to about 58 degrees at night.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high around 80 degrees during the day. Temperatures will then reach a low near 60 degrees at night.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with there still being a small chance of rain. With there being a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures will reach a high near 83 degrees during the day and drop to a low around 62 degrees at night.
