Cortland Weather Outlook: Fourth of July

For today's weather forecast, forecasters are anticipating a hot and sunny Fourth of July, with temperatures reaching a high near 87 degrees.

However, there will be a small 20 percent chance of light rain showers after 3 p.m.

It will then start to get partly cloudy late in the afternoon, with chances of precipitation increasing to a small 30 percent by midnight.

Temperatures will also drop at night to around 67 degrees.

Here is a look at the rest of this week's weather forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with there being a 50 percent chance of showers that may turn into thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high near 83 degrees during the day and will decrease to around 68 degrees at night.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with temperatures reaching a high around 82 degrees during the day. There will be a 60 percent chance if showers that will start late in the morning and will stop late in the afternoon. Temperatures will then drop to a near 59 degrees at night.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high of about 79 degrees throughout the day. Temperatures will then drop to around 54 degrees late in the evening.

Monday: It will be sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 80 degrees during the day. Temperatures will then decrease to a low around 56 degrees at night.

Tuesday: Sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 81 degrees. Temperatures however, will start decreasing to a low near 60 degrees at night.
