Cortland weather looks ripe for fireworks

For today's weather forecast, forecasters are predicting a mostly sunny  day, with temperatures reaching a high near 82 degrees.

There will only be a slight 20 percent chance of light rain between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

It will however start to get partly cloudy as we enter evening hours. There will be calm winds and temperatures will lower to around 63 degrees at night.

Here is a look at the rest of this week's weather forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Thursday (Independence Day): It will be mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 85 degrees during the day. It will however, start to to get partly cloudy late in the afternoon. With there being a small 20 percent chance of precipitation late in the evening. Temperatures will also drop to about 66 degrees at night.

Friday: Partly sunny, with there still being a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high around 84 degrees during the day and drop to a near 67 degrees at night.

Saturday: It will be mostly cloudy, with there being a 60 percent chance if precipitation, including thunderstorms throughout the day. Thunderstorms and showers will however, most likely end by 9 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high near 82 degrees during the day and decrease to around 60 degrees at night.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 78 degrees during the day. There will however be a small 30 percent chance of showers throughout the day. Temperatures will then start decreasing to a low around 54 degrees at night.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 80 degrees during the day and decrease to around 58 degrees at night.
