Port Watson crash slows traffic in Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Police and fire crews were called to a two-car crash on Port Watson Street late Monday afternoon.

The driver of a commercial vehicle heading southbound on Route 11/Port Watson Street slammed on his brakes just before colliding with a pickup truck, according to Cortland Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Friedman.

The accident occurred at around 4:40 p.m., Friedman said. The Ford pickup involved in the crash sustained heavy damage to its front end.

No serious injuries were reported.
