Weekend of Events: Things to do in Cortland County

(Photo Provided by Experience Cortland).

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

1. Cortland 20th annual Brockway Truck Show

This weekend, Cortland will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the National Brockway Truck Show, featuring a variety of events throughout the city, including fireworks and a parade.

Trucks come from all over the country for these series of events. There are some that even come from Canada.

Events will begin today at 6 p.m. with an ice cream cruise-in at the Super Cream in Homer, where drivers and Brockway owners will go and spend some social time together.

Friday will then start off with a "huskie drive" from the Brockway Museum to Greek Peak in the morning, where drivers will enjoy lunch together in the afternoon.

Following, there will be an Italian dinner fundraiser at 6 p.m. being held at Brockway Museum that day as well. All the money raised at the fundraiser will go towards future activities and to keep the museum open, according to Randolph. You will however need to RSVP to attend this dinner.

Then at 9:30 p.m. there will be a fireworks display right outside of the Museum.

The parade, serving as the main highlight will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

It will start at the Brockway Museum and end in Main Street, where trucks will park and stay there until around 3 p.m
