Police search for missing teen, request public help

A missing 16-year-old Cincinnatus boy was last seen Wednesday morning at his friend’s home and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help them find the teen, according to a news release.

Jordan T. A. Grover left his friend’s home around 7:30 a.m. and has not been seen since, according to Sgt. Anthony Phelps. Police received information he might have been picked up by an unknown person and be traveling to Rochester, but that information is unconfirmed, Phelps said.

Officers are taking statements from family and friends in hopes of learning what Grover’s plans might be, where he could be headed and why he left, Phelps said. Police believe Grover ran away from home, he said.

Grover is white, six-feet tall and 165 pounds, the Sheriff’s Office noted. He has dirty blond hair and blue eyes.

When Grover was last seen, he was wearing jean shorts and a black T-shirt with red sleeves and white lettering. He was also wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a rose on the front.

Anyone with information is urged to call Phelps at his office at (607) 758-5564 or on his cell at (607) 345-6886. Tips can also be called in to the Cortland County 911 Center at (607) 753-3311.

Officers hope to have more information in the coming hours and this story is set to be updated as information becomes available.
